Openings Still Available for Hazleton, McConnellsburg, and Renovo PA Outdoor Corps Summer Crews
DCNR and the Student Conservation Association (SCA) are gearing up to launch the seven-week summer Pennsylvania Outdoor Corps program, which offers work experience, job training, and educational opportunities to young people who complete recreation and conservation projects on Pennsylvania’s public lands.
The SCA has received a number of applications and has almost all of the crews filled; however, they still need applicants in the following areas:
Hazleton — One crew leader (must be 21 or older) and five crew members (must be between ages of 15-18)
McConnellsburg — One to two crew members (must be between ages of 15-18)
Renovo — One to three crew members (must be between ages of 15-18)
If you know of any youth in these locations who would be interested in this paid job, which also provides learning opportunities weekly in resource management, environmental issues and topics, and recreation skills, please encourage them to apply.
Additional information and instructions for how to apply can be found at http://www.dcnr.pa.gov/outdoorcorps/Pages/default.aspx

This is a great opportunity for high school aged kids to see the different career opportunities that are available in the outdoors. The Crew Leader position is a great way for someone to gain leadership skills and experience. In the last two years, I know that everyone would meet up in Wilkes Barre each morning and ride together in one or two vans. I don’t know why it says Hazleton, but it might be because they are trying to pull people from other parts of the area. If you or anyone else has any questions, please feel free to reach out to me – 570-417-2101.
